This teleconference will highlight posters presented during AmeriGEO Week 2023 and other research applications in the Americas Region by CoP members.
The AmeriGEO Week 2023, using the theme Data Driven Solutions for a Sustainable Planet, will be held from August 7-12, 2023 at the University of Costa Rica in San Jose, Costa Rica (and virtual), with support by the Costa Rica’s Ministry of Environment and Energy. On August 8, the EO4Health and IAI team will support the One Health session entitled, Connecting Earth and Health Science Communities through One Health Regional Partnerships, with a panel session (9:00-11:00AM MT/GMT-6) and interactive poster session (1:00-3:00PM MT/GMT-6). The EO4Health and IAI team will also moderate the One Health side event (3:00-5:00PM MT/GMT-6) entitled, Deep Dive on Using Earth Observations for Public Health Applications, focusing on vector-borne diseases (malaria early warning systems) and heat (urban heat mapping).

Following regional discussions at the AmeriGEO Week 2022, this telecon aims to explore how the CoP can contribute expertise, share relevant data products, and develop Earth observation solutions related to human migration and health.
The American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting 2022 will be held virtually from December 12 to 16, 2022. This meeting will provide an opportunity for members of the Earth and space sciences - educators, researchers, journalists, health practitioners, among others - to highlight program and research findings, strengthen professional networks, and discuss priority focus areas that advance AGU efforts. The scientific program will include a variety of sessions, including keynote presentations, oral and poster sessions, and e-lightning talks.
As a global network of governments, organizations, and observers, this international platform aims to promote interdisciplinary collaborations that use environmental observations to improve health decision-making at the international, regional, country, and district levels. This meeting will provide an opportunity for members of Earth science and public health communities to describe key international projects and updates, enhance professional networks through work group activities, and discuss priority focus areas that advance GEO and AGU efforts.
